‘Single-Stream in Perspective’ chronicles the rise of single-stream recycling collections in North America, representing an anthology of articles on single-stream recycling that have appeared in Resource Recycling magazine over the past seven years. It explores the costs and benefits of this controversial collection method, as well as how single-stream recycling has affected: facility designs; the development of recycling technology and equipment; the marketing of recyclables; end-use markets; and municipal recycling and contract structuring. The content tackles such questions as whether the promise of increased volumes and decreased collection costs has been realised, how the effects of consolidated collection have rippled through the industry, and what might be coming next. ‘Single-Stream in Perspective’ costs US$ 30, plus shipping costs.
